Two different questions

Two kinds of risk, kept apart

Conflating them is how a trader ends up with a position their account should never have carried. RayTrading keeps them separate, names them differently, and never lets one answer for the other.

Opportunity risk

A property of the setup itself — how far price must travel, how much room the structure allows, how the analysis is characterised. It is the same for everyone looking at that setup, because it describes the setup and not the viewer.

  • Belongs to the analysis
  • Identical for every viewer
  • Shown as a level, not a promise

Account risk

A decision about your account: may this account take this setup, and at what size. It is computed on the server from the state of your account, and it is different for two people looking at the same opportunity.

  • Belongs to the account
  • Different for every account
  • Decided on the server, always

Three answers, and one that is easy to get wrong

Approved

The account may take the requested size.

Approved with a limit

The account may take a smaller size than requested.

Refused

The account may not take this setup, with the reason given.

When the answer is smaller than the question

If you ask for a size your account cannot carry, RayTrading shows you both numbers — what you asked for, and what your account permits. It never quietly substitutes one for the other, and it never proceeds on the smaller number until you accept it explicitly.

You asked for one size. Your account permits another. You will see both.

The browser does not decide

No client — web or mobile — computes an authoritative position size. Sizing is a server decision, returned as a number the client displays. A client that calculated its own would be a second source of truth, and the one users notice is always the one that is wrong.

An opportunity score is a ranking, not a probability of profit.
